640x480 Versus 320x240

640x480 Versus 320x240

Anyone have any strong feeling about filming at 320x240 if you're only going to post it on youtube/ Break.

Makes for a far small avi...and wmv/mp4 at the end of the day...and most framegrabbers work faster too.

? :(

Wouldn't say its a strong feeling dude not like the feelin I get sometimes  but I think for quality reasons even when you squish down to 320x240 on youtube ...640x480 will result in a better sharper image if you use it when grabbing your frames. Also you can submit your wmv / mp4 or whatever to youtube / break / revver at 640x480 and it will look better and give viewers the option of viewing in HiQuality mode.

Its only a matter of time anyway before online video sharing goes to true 640x480 ...thats if they don't shut down Youtube soon

I actually film in HD - 1600 by 800. I find that this allows me to crop, do digital camera movement, etc. and also results in much better quality for download versions of the film.

PC. I'm using Virtualdub to assemble Jpegs into an AVI file. And yes, it does eat up disk space. On most VFX shots I average 2 Gb per shot.
